  • An interesting thought to the primal blueprint

    I deer hunt every year. This year we shot a mature doe. When we were field dressing her, I noticed a layer of fat inside the body cavity I'm not used to seeing.

    It got me thinking. When living primal should we adjust our eating and exercise habits to a season routine instead of a daily routine.

    What are your thoughts?

      I think it just sort of happens naturally- at least it did for me. I noticed towards the winter months I tend towards a more carnivore-based diet, and veggies consist mainly of onions, carrots, sweet potatoes, winter squashes, and sometimes broccoli/cauliflower. Fruits tend to be pretty minimal. I try to exercise regularly but I'm certainly not doing as much "moving slowly" as I would in the summer.

      I don't think our seasonal adaptations are as drastic as they used to be, but there are subtle differences.

        I think you are on to something. I hunt too and depending on the kills for the season we usually start the year off with mostly venison. then towards the end of summer switch back to beef . I prefer beef but hard to go buy it when you have 3 deer in the deep freeze, paid for

          If you go by the 100 mile thing, where you only buy local food, produced within 100 miles of home (or thereabouts) the seasonal eating will come naturally.
