  • Magnesium Oil?

Hey everybody! Just curious if any of you have had any experience (positive or negative) with using magnesium oil as a supplement instead of using an oral supplement?

I first got interested reading about ZMA, which led into reading about magnesium and issues with magnesium deficiency, and then that led to reading up on magnesium oil. It seems legit, but I'm looking for some feedback and possibly some guidance...any info at all would be of great help.

    Thanks a million, guys!

There are some great thread about magnesium supplementation....i keep meaning to bookmark them all.

    In the meantime, board search
    magnesium-oil
    magnesium-chloride
nigari (it's just mag chloride which is what one mixes with distilled water to make cheap mag oil)

And you'll get a bunch of great information

I love my Jigsaw time released mag dimalate but will definitely make some mag oil soon.

Hmm... I'm thinking about trying the magnesium oil, too. I def have some absorption issues right now, and anything I can take to get around going through my digestive system I'm all for!

are there any studies showing what the dermal absorption of magnesium is? (If any?)

I do think Mg is one of the few things I need to supplement.

i have 100% pure magnesium chloride in brine, that you just spray onto your skin....only thing is it sorta stings my skin, and makes it go red and itchy...no idea why

cutaneous absorption of mg is good though I don't have time to look up cites. Paleo Man has posted on it and has a good friend who used to research as well as other thing at Baylor University.

I use it and love it. And I make it using nigari flakes (like, under $2 a lb!) mixed w/ water. I can *feel* the difference. Big time. I personally think I have some gut absorption issues and much prefer this to oral mag. I also have felt a difference using transdermal B vites as well (google SeaBlue Power transdermal B vitamins if you're interested), although that is not as bioloicially appropriate as mag oil IMO...

Well, I'm going to have to try the Mag oil soon, as well.
After my last little adventure with oral magnesium, I'm a little too skittish to try ANY form orally now

Brilliant - this really made me laugh! In the North East of England where I was brought up, older people referred to diarrhea as "having the skitters" - so I suppose they felt --- "skittish" !!
