  • Phrases you're really sick of hearing...

#1: "It made me throw up a little bit in my mouth."

If I read that phrase one more time, I think I'm going to, ummm...throw up a little bit in my mouth? NO, I think I'll merely scream within my mind.

    #2: "What would Grok do?"

I don't give a monkey's feces what Grok would do. All I care about is whether or not it has a good or bad effect on me.

I hear you. Too much lingo and code language can make something seem culty!

      "I'm just saying."

The most passive-aggressive sentence since "it looks good on you, though."

We KNOW you're "just saying" it. You got that point across WHEN YOU SAID IT.

EDIT: The only thing worse? Cutting the "g" off to make it more casual. And the addition of the ever-adorable snark emoticon:

      "I'm just sayin'. "

That for me is the trifecta of QUIT IT.

My husbands all time hated saying: "It is what it is"

He gets laser death eyes when he hears anyone say it.

I don't like it much either, but I don't think I hate it. "Just sayin'" is probably one of my bigger pet peeves.

              "Well! That's only your opinion!"

I understand where you're coming from here. You know what Grok would do? He'd eat every last fucking Twinkie in the grocery ailse and horde all the cup cakes until he was hungry enough eat again.

It's about getting optimal gene expression. So, it's not about what Grok WOULD do, but what he DID do. (I'm just sayin'. )

Not so much a phrase, but I really can't stand "preggers" or "prego" when describing a pregnant woman. I don't know why, it just really gets on my nerves.

                      "This."

What's wrong with using "Agreed" when you agree with something?

                            Two things currently:

"You don't eat grains??????" Said with an incredulous look.

Followed by " I could NEVER live wtihout bread."

                            Sigh.

Unfortunately when I have imbibed a bit too much, "just sayin'" comes out of my mouth a lot. At least that's what my husband tells me. Poor guy!

I don't give two flying F***s about what Grok would do or what he did. He's a metaphor. I'm here to make my body into what it's meant to be.
"But X said Y", implying that X is ALWAYS right.... I don't give two Flying F****s about that either. If they have evidence, I'll look into it. Otherwise, don't appeal to authority.
"You can't eat grains? You must get really sick of corn and potatoes." self explanatory
"It's ALL about the carbs/ calories/ fat/ omega 3: omega 6/ etc." No, it's not. For you it may be, but everybody and every body is different. Recommendations are fine, but don't get pissed when they don't take your advice for gospel.
And the next person I hear talking about how 'wonderfully the economy's recovering', I'm going to chuck out a closed door.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"
