  • Water Kefir? Best recipe?

    Hi,

    I've had a look at a few water kefir recipes and some vary slightly.

    This one:

    My question is it seems molasses are recommended, but would following this kind of recipe be okay for the grains long term?

    I just want a simple recipe that's straight forward.

      Good stuff thanks!

      This might be a silly question, but if you use sugar, I know that the grains eat most of it, but aren't you consuming some sugar aka non primal etc.

        I do a secondary fermentation and the end product may have some sugars but nothing like you would get in juice. The longer you ferment, the less sugars. I usually only drink a glass a day and don't worry about it.
