  • Post Workout Carbs?

    What's the best options for easily digestible (preferably something I can add to my veggie protein powder) carbs for my post workout meal? Any "go to" options?

      Purchased it a long while back when I was trying to get away from dairy temporarily to see if I had an issue digesting whey/lactose... It's a pea-protein. I can go back to whey since I'm now eating dairy without issue.

        Post Workout Carbs?

        Sweet potato + cinnamon.

        Bananas + coconut water + vanilla.

        Carrots + bananas + grade B maple syrup + cinnamon (carrot cake flavored smoothie).

        Beets (cooked) + banana + raw cacao (red velvet cake)

        I try to come up with glucose-heavy combinations for maximum muscle glycogen replenishment. Usually the tubers and the fruits are frozen.

        Rice pudding and gluten free oats made with protein powder mixed in work well too.

          How about pumpkin? Getting to be that season anyway.

            Love pumpkin spice, but butternut squash is way better than pumpkin. I use butternut squash to make the best pumpkin pie ever... It has the same flavors but is much creamier.

            (I hate "pumpkin spice" spice so I just use cinnamon for the most part)

              I used to make crustless pumpkin pie by cooking pumpkin or butternut squash in some kind of bone broth with cinnamon sticks and then I used to add coconut sugar or honey and eggs. the broth would add protein and gelatin which I always try to take post workout.

              I still get confused when to eat carbs before, after or both.
