  • Ordering grass fed tallow & lard online?

I've searched high and low for grass fed tallow and lard in my area, and have had no luck. I really want to get some of each, so ordering online is my only hope. Can anyone recommend good sources?

US Wellness has good tallow (although they brand it beef lard). There are probably several other sources, but that's the one I know. you can always make your own, as well, if you have access to the grass-fed fat and some spare time.

We ordered a 5gal bucket from US Wellness Meats. It has good flavor, texture, and color. I went with the large bucket for the convenience of just have a big bucket readily available in the pantry to scoop out some fat as we need for cooking. Also, this allows us to share with friends and family thinking of using beef tallow.
I have a friend that calls a couple days ahead to Whole Foods and ask the butcher to save the grass fed beef trimmings. He said they give him a pretty good amount and it's free.

Reviving an old thread, but is it possible to get deodorized tallow?
The grass-fed tallow I have really stinks up the joint. Its taste is strong enough to alter dishes....

I find it noticeably "grassy" (barnyard?) but in a good way.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would want to "deodorize" it. I think it's good tasting and smelling and adds a nice taste in cooking too.

That is the way I feel about coconut oil.
