  • Is There A Primal Grocery List?

    Hello all,

I am just starting to get my feet wet with the whole primal thing. I constantly looking for new foods to try. Not sure if this is too broad of a question BUT here goes...

Do you know where I could find a primal grocery list and or a meal plan I could use to formulate one? I looked around and couldn't find anything on the blog or on the forum. I am just looking for something to give me some ideas of what I - or my wife - could be on the lookout for next time we are at the market.

    Thanks for your help!

Have you looked at this yet?

I'd also advise you to check out the recipe thread and look at Primal Blueprint journals, to see what others are eating. You pretty much avoid grains, anything majorly processed, keep an eye out for sugar, keep dairy low (preferably full-fat, definitely organic, raw if possible.)
With Mark's help, I've conquered depression, acne, rosacea, scale obsession, migraines, and lethargy. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

      From the regular grocery store:
fruit, garlic, vegetables when the CSA box isn't in season
      organic whole chicken
      organic ground turkey
whole milk (with algae-sourced DHA added) for the kids (I'm off dairy)
      organic 85% dark chocolate
      omega 3 eggs

      From paidom.com
grass fed beef 50 pound variety pack
planning to get bones the next time around!

From whole foods (probably go there once every three weeks):
larabars (for the kids, and I keep a couple at work just in case I forget my lunch and I'm super hungry or something)
raw nuts, seeds, and dried figs, and unsweetened coconut flakes
      coconut oil
      pastured butter
fruits and veggies (because they are so gorgeous at whole foods)
frozen wild caught alaskan salmon, salmon burgers, mahi mahi, and mahi mahi burgers
superfood greens powder (just use every once in a while in a PWO smoothie)
whey isolate (I'm not allowed to eat casein - and this is just for the PWO smoothie)
      green tea
I'm going to look for kelp, dulce, celtic salt and that sort of thing next time

CSA box from the local farmer's market starts in two weeks! Can't wait!

The Paleo Plan has a complete meal plan with grocery list and everything. Although I believe this is based off of the Paleo Diet and not the Primal Blueprint.

Just follow the five essential food groups:

Red Meat, White Meat, Fish, Bacon and vegetables.
A steak a day keeps the doctor away

Oh and by the way, what is the difference between these plans? They seem very similar at first glance.
