Will I get enough nutrients by mainly eating muscle meat, bone broth, and organs meats? I will probably eat vegetables as well, but theoretically could one do it without vegetables and still be healthy? I was thinking this is how all of the wild carnivores live so why couldn't I live that way (except they probably chew the bone instead of making bone broth)?

Mark just addressed this a couple of weeks ago in a blog post. did you see this already?

Drock, interesting article. It didn't seem like he addressed anything about bone broth or organ meats in place of vegetables though. Do you have any additional thoughts on that?

When paleo folks, especially Mark, talk about animals you can assume they include bone and organ meats. You do need some veggies or fruit.

Why do you want to go so extreme though?

Major plant-only stuff would be vitC, gut microbe chow, and (calorie-efficient) potassium. Some homemade pickled peppers might fit the bill.

Carnivores have different livers that do massive protein -> glucose conversion while they sleep.

You can be perfectly healthy on an all-meat diet, as was demonstrated by Vilhjalmur Stefansson. He and a friend spent over a year on an all-meat diet while closely observed by scientists. They were found to be in good health.

Liver has a lot of vitamin C depending on the animal, best eaten rare. And frequently.

Where vegans say you are designed FOR plants, the most accurate thing to say was we're designed to include them. If/but...depending on where you wanna go with that.

It would seem that we're herbivore-like ENOUGH that we should probably stretch the legs of the processes involved in digesting them.

That's the most reasonable position I can think of.
