  • Another good nutrition article on T-Nation

I'd love to hear ChocoTaco's thoughts, particularly.

    My favorite sentence:

Sounds kind of like something Mark Sisson might say, don't you think?

Choco is an impetuous young man who just discovered something about diet, and he's evangelizing about it.

Something about how you shouldn't mix carbs and fats.

I'm sure he'll explain it to you if you ask. Or even if you don't.

I bet he'd agree with at least most of it and insist that it doesn't contradict anything he ever said...

              That sounds familiar.

                Nothing new here.

CICO is all that matters for weight loss. A 200 calorie surplus is a 200 calorie surplus. You're going to gain "weight."

But different foods are going to have a different effect on satiety and body composition. 2,000 calories of steak, eggs and potatoes is going to have a profoundly different impact on health and satiety than 2,000 calories of french fries and soda. And overeating 200 calories of tenderloin is probably going to give you a "better" kind of weight gain than 200 extra calories of funnel cake. No one ever said all foods have the same effect on the "CO" portion of the equation, either. Fruit and steak is going to elicit a different effect on your thyroid than soybean-oil-fried-chicken, especially over time.

Like I said, nothing new here.

You're extremely confused. A search of your posts would immediately show that. But don't let that stop you from talking.

                      What do I always say?

Eat real food, embrace carbohydrate, limit PUFA, lift heavy, sprint, prioritize protein and control your portions.

                      Can you argue with that?

Feel free. I should've said "Can you argue with that and make any sense while being logical and grounded in science?"

                            My bad.
