  • A few questions on Ketosis

I'm confused, I thought that Ketosis was used to describe the state you enter when you fast for a couple of days, and your body starts burning fat for energy. But I've seen multiple people use to the word Ketosis when describing their diets as well. Is it possible to enter Ketosis while still eating? Can you enter Ketosis by simply removing carbs?

Also, is entering a state of Ketosis a bad idea if you're underweight? I'm 5'11 and weigh 130-135 pounds. I have pretty much no spare body fat, and every time I've fasted it's left me very tired.

I'm currently getting back on the primal train after a few messy weeks. I'm contemplating doing a fast to "reset" myself but I'm worried it will just make me really tired and then cause me to binge eat when I come out of it. Is it better for some people to just avoid fasting/ketosis and reset themselves by other means?

    Thanks

What's your goal with the Ketosis?
Disclaimer: I eat 'meat and vegetables' ala Primal, although I don't agree with the carb curve. I like Perfect Health Diet and WAPF Lactofermentation a lot.
