Hello everyone. I'm looking for a good recipe for toothpaste.

I have noticed more and more sensitivity in my teeth lately. Id like to convert everything I use/consume in my life to as close to primal living as possible. I've been using a very well know brand of sensitivity toothpaste, and strangely my teeth feel more sensitive than ever. I'm also greatly disturbed at the presence of a form of nitrate, a known carcinogen, as well as fluoride, another controversial ingredient. Has anyone else experienced more sensitivity from using such a toothpaste? I also have a receding gum-line on four of my teeth, for which I've been researching oil pulling. Has anyone experienced any success from this?

    Any responses are appreciated!

I rinse with hydrogen peroxide every so often. I rarely have any issues with my gums or teeth now.

See my response to your same question you posted in the 'recipes' section.

        No brushing for you, JimenyKrickets?

Thanks AuroraB. I posted in both sections in hopes of more advice.

Also avoid any toothpaste or product with Triclosan in it. We use Jason natural toothpaste.

I use primal tooth powder by primal life organics as well as "heal thy mouth blend" by orawellness. Wouldn't go back to toothpaste ever.

                Bulletproof Toothpaste

Mix Virgin coconut oil with baking soda in a jar. Works great.

I know there is a brand of toothpaste that just uses clay and peppermint oil. You don't even have to rinse afterward, it's totally edible :P Good stuff!
