  • Primal treats at WALGREEN'S

OK so they may not be perfect, but it beats a snickers bar. I just got back from the corner Walgreen's and they had Planters brand "skinned almonds" in olive oil and sea salt and another was black pepper and garlic. 250 calories for 99 cents, oh and 200 of those calories from FAT.
I did not grab any myself but I am going to steal the idea and make a few blends from the almonds I do have. I'm sure if I took the time to read the label from one end to the other we would find some less acceptable ingredients but I was not going to nit pick.

I googled it: I am not sure how great these are, since they are roasted and have cottonseed oil in them? But you're right, definitely better than a Snickers! Here's the nutritional info for the chili-lime: http://www.planters.com/varieties/nu...uct=2900001428

Very true- I have had marinated olives stuffed with almonds before, and they were delectable!

Bostonbully, it's not a problem with the roasted almonds, just the oil that they were roasted in. If you're dying and have to eat they'll work, but like the OP mentioned, those little snacks are a great launching point for making your own "fancy" almond snacks! Plus it'll be cheaper, since you'll almost always get a better deal buying a bigger bag of almonds than you will buying those snack bags.

                    Try Tanka bars
native american company that makes excellent bars with buffalo.

I see. I've never given it any thought as to what my nuts are roasted in. Probably peanut oil or something. I'll have to look into unroasted nuts. Thanks

Yeah I look at the icecream and miss it a bit.. the current CHokitos adverts are frustrating. But depressing? Only momentarily. (Gives you new sympathy for recovered drug addicts, doesn't it).

I made primal banana pancakes for morning tea and they were sooooo good. They're a bit carby so a weekend treat now. Cream in my coffee. Delicious beef stew for dinner. There's nothing depressing about my diet.

Just have to do this, sorry---wrap those 6 oz Snickers bars in 24 ozs of good bacon. Then you will have the magic 80%.

                            Don't throw things at me!

                              Bhahaha!

I did just find a nut/dark chocolate/teeny bit of toffee snack at Trader Joe's. It's not chewy at all, but has that same sweet/nutty/salty/chocolatey thing going on, just in a somewhat less damaging way. Not too awful on ingredients or carbs. They were called (amusingly) "Nutty Bits".
