Oh good lord someone above said 'a carton of cage free egg whites'?!!

Is that a thing? Here on Australia we deal solely in eggs that come fresh from a chicken's vent.

That in itself seems the epitome of non real food!

I said that. If you think butter in a wrapped stick, dark chocolate in wrapper, cured bacon in plastic wrapper, and cheese to be real food, how is separating egg white from egg yolks make the egg white no longer real food? It is just like having the curds separated from whey or cream separated from milk.

      Paleo nonsense.

The ingredients on the carton is just egg whites. No gums, preservatives, etc.

Sorry about the bacon, Turquoise, I guess I'll just have to count the preservatives in my 20%. The butter, chocolate and cheese have to come wrapped in something but they're still real food to me.

I didn't say they weren't. The person I was responding to said my carton of egg whites was the epitome of non real food and I was just pointing out that the concept is kind of ridiculous.

                    Wow, that's really interesting.

I guess I'd take JP -- lots of whole fresh fish and veggie. The US/UK were packed with industrial revolution nastiness.

Hmm did I hit a raw nerve?! Chocolate and bacon are processed foods, which isn't to say they are all bad, but yes they are processed!

What I should have said is that egg whites in a carton are to me, an Aussie where such things don't exist, the epitome of highly processes foods. But as you say, if there is nothing but egg white in the carton, I guess it's not too processed either.

Always happy to be proven wrong, but like it to be done with a smile!

I get most my meat ( & Dairy) from local butcher & Dairy so my "grocery " shop tends to look something like this.. (this was taken this summer so different fruit/veg available)
people in the supermarket don't realize I probably also have a freezer full of meat at home
Oh & the OJ, Milk & Katsup is hubbys
Every time I hear the dirty word 'exercise', I wash my mouth out with chocolate.

Last week - yogurt, potatoes, and eggs with a few steaks tossed in.

This week - just eggs (in tallow) and potatoes, with kombucha to wash it down. Because I am a mad man.
