  • Celeriac. as a pasta substitute - any experience?

I am planning to use it today to make lasagne. I'm guessing the success will lie in getting it thin enough. Does anyone know if I should fry/roast/par-boil it first?

    Hiya

Not used it as a pasta substitute tend to use courgettes for that, however celeriac chips roasted in butter are gorgeous as are boiled / mashed celeriac ( mash in butter )

Have fun it's a great vegetable

Just eaten it. I had trieds courgettes in the past and not been that impressed. They're OK but not quite there. The celeriac workeD pretty well. Not perfect but I don't think perfect is a realistic goal. The only imperfection is the white sauce didn't absorb into the celeriac as well asit would in the real thing - but it was much better than the courgette version imho.

I did saute them for a bit first, to avoid wateriness, and I'm glad I did. I'm pretty happy with it overall.
