What? That doesn't makes sense, anyways I do eat meat, and do primal stuff, at times. I also can be a vegetarian for a few weeks. It's called just eating healthy without putting a label on it.

So what's exactly the point of starting this thread?

Mark has been doing this blog for quite a while now. He has aged. He says that. He's 60. I'm 75. Human bodies change with age. Nutrient needs change with age. Surely you do not think that my needs are the same as a 20 year old. And this is only one of the causes for change.

I do wish that more people would put their age on their profiles. It's a little unrealistic for people to comment when the OP could be from 13 to 75, M or F, over or under weight, active or sedentary, etc.
Sometimes I think this community expect everyone to be the same age, or maybe the same as as the OP is.

The idea that we should never in any way modify our opinions, even if we learn new information, is generally not a good life strategy.

Excellent point! I'm 42. If I were to take a guess I would say all the gung-ho meat eaters are younger, like 20's-30. I commend Mark's transfer to more veggies and fruit and being honest it about. It's unpredictable to know how your body will react to foods as you get older, that is why it's not safe to pigeon hole oneself with a concrete diet. Eating lots of meat as you get older, just doesn't settle well, and quite honestly not good for you.

I thought our protein requirements increased with age.

I'm 49, and I eat lots of meat. My last three daily menus, meat-wise:

                                1C pork cubes
                                1 pork bratwurst
                                2/3lb ground beef
                                4 slices bacon

                                1C ground beef
lots of sashimi, best guess, a pound
                                1/2lb grilled salmon

                                2 eggs
                                3 breakfast sausages
                                4oz white fish
                                1/2lb ground beef

Okay, maybe it is not quite as much meat as I thought. But it IS enough to make my friends' eyes bug out!
