Have a great time. You'll be back stronger than ever. Might want to bring some almond flour for that waffle maker...it's like the using a similar batter for the 1 minute muffin...almond flower, eggs, baking powder, butter, and sugar free syrup.

Have a great time! Maintaining is a good goal. Don't get the "well, I blew it today so I might as well eat..." Mentality and you will do fine!

Ooh, I didn't know about that little gem of a recipe. Will have to write that one down for sure!

          • Today's measurements:
            Weight: 146
            FBG 94

Not bad for indulging a little yesterday, if I do say so myself.

I didn't have time to log in for the nutritional data today, its been a hectic day-actually will be all wk.

Breakfast: smoothie with 1/2 c berries, 8 oz coconut milk, huge blender full of greens, 1/3 avocado.
Lunch: 3/4 c chopped celery, 1/2 c chopped cucumber, and a piece of chicken-maybe a little less than size of my palm, homemade apple cider vinaigrette. Oh yeah, and 2 oz goat cheese too.
Dinner: more of the same as lunch-yum! Didn't measure it but it was likely 1/2 the size of lunch
Snack: coconut flakes, homemade coconut bread

I exercised a little today. 10 min elliptical then I did one circuit of lifting heavy things and crunches.

Overall I feel pretty good today. Tomorrow I leave for a road trip to visit family so will be difficult to log things. I will be back in full swing on Friday. I did pack lots of veggies and chicken, and my coconut bread so I should be good to go food wise.

Put on some weight back on, which maybe a result of eating 2,200 calories. I plan to eat approx. 1,800 calories today to see how thing workout. I also think a lack of sleep contributed to me not getting enough rest and waking up with a splitting headache. I'm trying to avoid taking a pain reliever, advil, but this throbbing is really affecting my concentration. I'll wait an hour to see how the food I just ingested feels. Hope everyone else is doing well.
How did it turn out with your headache? Also, maybe it's not the same for you, but, I find by eating more veggies for a day or two and allowing the carb count to go a tiny bit higher, my body releases weight again. Sometimes it just needs a little veg/greens, not sure why.
I remember a few yrs back in was doing ketosis and had not lost any weight for a few days. I went to dinner with my mom and decided to just ge the salad bar and forget about weighing and measuring things and just eat good food. I loaded that plate up and devoured a TON of delicious veggies and greens. I thought for sure I would go up the next day because my carb count was surely really high! Quite the opposite happened and I lost 2 lbs the next day and again 2 days after that. Just a thought.

              • I ate raw liver. It tastes like milk. Now I always leave it as raw as I can, just cooking the outside.
                Crohn's, doing SCD

Thanks for asking. I stuck it out and it eventually went away after about 4 hours. Luckily the pain dissipated slowly so it was more and more tolerable. I'm trying to weigh out in my head if taking advil to relieve the pain is better than waiting it out. The jury is still out.

I also think some variation in the diet can trigger weight loss. I'm going to be varying my caloric intake to see how my body responds. I'm also going to shorten my eating window to see how my body responds. If my body responds well, i'll continue this experiment for a while. So far a slight increase in protein intake and decrease in fat intake allowed me to stay in ketosis and caused weight and fat loss. Hopefully experiment #2 will also continue my body comp changes to continue. The true test will be when I get the results of my blood test and dexa scan.

Holy. You have big balls. Kudos to you for going for it. I'm not sure if I'm ready to make that dive yet. Maybe freeze it and swallow like a pill would be the only way for now. Even swallowing it frozen has some mental blocks I have to get over. I'm still learning to like the taste of it cooked. Did you freeze it first or did you just go for it? The first time I cooked it I had two strips where one turned out well done and the other was like medium well. The second time, one came out medium well and the other came out medium rare. I think I like it around medium. The only dislike I have so far is the gritty texture of the parts that end up being more well done.

                      • This mornings measurements:
                        Weight 106.4
                        FBG 104

I made a coconut bread primal style and used duck eggs. I think I'm sensitive to duck eggs & hoping that's the cause of the raise in numbers. Today I ate not so well & have no way to measure its effects in the morning.
I am putting this out here for accountability's sake... Tomorrow we are on the rd and eating will be a little tricky but I brought some food along with me. Two things I have not been able to resist are trail mix & tortilla chips. Both of which I consumed today-in a small amt.
I want to stay away from them tomorrow so I am just putting this out there-don't want to completely ruin all the progress I made this wk.

I love that you use duck eggs. I've never seen a duck egg in my life. Seems like it's tasty if you're eating it regularly and it sucks that you're sensitive. I would just do your best to stay on track and enjoy your trip. Have fun.

                              Down a pound, great job!!!

I sent you a PM about the glucose/ketone meter. Not sure if you got it but I figured it out. They didn't include ketone strips, so I have to wait until I have the money to buy them. I can't believe how expensive they are!!! Over 50.00 for a box of ten?!?! Crazy. Where did you buy yours? Trying to find them for cheaper, I looked on Amazon but the average price is about 50.00 on there too. Thanks in advance for your help!
