I agree, it's hard to tell. For me it was a group participation project, not just my own opinion.

      • Just a quick note, based on my research of this diet, ground beef is an acceptable alternative, though I would use the fattiest grind you can. Ketosis requires a high fat intake. This will help lower the cost a bit for those on a budget.

        • Monday thru Thursday

One meal per day consisting of 10-24oz. of fatty steak (ribeye, NY strip, etc.), 2-6 whole eggs and one glass of red wine allowed. (No beer for you!)
If he was eating only one meal a day consisting of 10oz of fatty steak and 2 whole eggs, no wonder he kept cheating.

          • Yea I am using ground beef occasionally. Today I am making little "cows in a blanket", with ground beef wrapped in dried beef. Now...time to go egg shopping, hopefully I get some disgusting looks from some fat phobes

Also instead of a standard lunch at work, I just take a fat swab of coconut oil and get my lips and mouth moistened. There's my extra fat

Good point. I really think our approach will work best. 18/6 IF with two meals should get outstanding results.

                • Oh jeez this is just great. I am living at my parents house right now and I am now cooking my meals outside on a propane stove. Apparently my mother cannot take the smell of ground beef cooking twice a day. That and she insists on washing my cast iron in soap, so I had to hide the pan, because that smells too...

Then she saw my pile of meat and eggs in a big bowl and said she was disgusted and thinks I am going crazy...

I feel and look better than I ever have in my entire life, but no one seems take that into account. /rant

                  • All right Canuck! I'm gonna need you to come drive me to work tomorrow.

Just completed my first "official" workout in 3.5 years or so. My arms and chest are jelly! But you know, I can't let a 61 year old man make me feel like a chump! (I sure hope the kidding is coming across here!).

Thanks for the motivation and the accountability!

Can't wait to see where I am in a month.

Thanks again for starting this thread!

PFFFFTTT, Grok didn't have no stinking propane or skillet! Build a big old bon fire and cook it on a stick...well, it'd have to be a bunch of TINY sticks to cook hamburger I guess.

Seriously though, using soap on the cast iron? That's just wrong! Good luck!

Glad to provide you with some motivation but oh boy, I think you are going to be very stiff tomorrow and especially the day after. There will be consequences to not working out for over 3 years and then going hard. Take it easy for the next couple of days, do some very light movements to get the blood moving but don't do anything heavy.
