Black Currents- those are primal. If you can't find them in stores up there how about growing them? I'm in far north Idaho, if they grow here you might have a chance as well.
My big question marks are beets, buckwheat, cold-pressed real sunflower oil, gazillion fermented foods, from garlic to mushrooms, and rye bread - all those foods I ate pretty much daily for the first 22 years of my life....
We have no raw dairy in Canada, and I gave up on making kefir after 2 years, it is just too hard to keep the culture for one person, hunting the milk on sale and all that jazz. I switched to Greek yogurt.
I am not aiming to be Primal, just whole, home-made foods.
