Don't take my word for it.
Stay Primal for a while, and enjoy all of the benefits of a lowered metabolism.
Eventually, you'll come around. (if you want to feel better).

Perhaps because I am a word nerd, I am immediately put off by the typos and questionable language in the excerpt.

I also find it hilarious that he would advocate someone go eat at McDonald's rather than cook a burger and fries from high quality ingredients and enjoy it at home. :P

        To each their own!
        yay!

I've been thinking about buying it. What's a dollar for useful information? If all the diagnostic work with my GI doctor turns out to be a bust (it has been so far), I'm going to see an endo and follow the 180 degree health "diet". I already eat tons of bread and orange juice, with occasional pizza. It's helped me put on some much needed weight, at least, but my emotional and digestive problems will not fucking quit.

There is no reason that "being Primal" would automatically lower someones metabolism.
            That is simple hooey.
Primal is not automatically "LC" or VLC... it includes roots, tubers, and fruits.
There is nothing "extreme" about a diet including those foods.
There is no evidence that the normal Primal diet is anywhere near low enough in carbs to cause a lowered metabolism.

Prolonged eating well below caloric need can... for those seeking weight loss this can be an issue (this is where those he gets the idea that HFLC on it's own causes metabolic slowdown, because those people are usually eating low cal for weight loss for extended periods), ... especially for those seeking fast weight loss who want to lose more than the recommended 2lbs per week.
Exercise actually works to correct this. If you are dieting and exercising to gain muscle (LHT), which you should be according to Primal, that muscle actually works against any "lowering of the metabolism"... it actually does the opposite and increases the metabolism.

            Anyway...

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.

I won't ever buy one of those stupid Kindle things. I guess I'll wait for the physical copy. Will there be one?

Anyone who recommends MickeyD's is a fool looking for an audience.

And eating VLC not only helped me lose weight but IMPROVED my metabolism.

If I paid $2 would he hire an editor?

Because I'm not slogging through a book full of "sentences" like this: "It would be easier to be liked and for this book to be well-received by continuing to re-affirm your beliefs about what is and isn’t healthy, because when someone says something is healthy that you think isn’t, you react with serious objection."

                            um, what?
