The food industry is so concerned about our cholesterol levels they want us all to start eating "heart healthy" granola bars, "Heartwise" orange juice, Orowheat bread, Benecol, and Take Control (margarine-like spreads) because these are fortified with sterols and stanols. Supposedly these foods will lower our LDL levels. What would you tell a friend who was considering consuming these products?
