Bone broth- how many batches?

    I've only ever done one batch with the bones - but I never seem to have a shortage of broth or bones. I pour my broth into mason jars when I'm done. An unopenned mason jar with a good layer of fat on top has lasted me 2 weeks. Basically if it smells ok then I still use it - I may just boil it a little extra when I heat it up.

      Weird question that I didn't think need it's own thread (IOW, sorry for the highjack). But would be beneficial, harmful or neither to throw eggshells in the mix? I keep what I call my "garbage bag" in the freezer. I put bones and vegetable ends, rinds, skins, etc... in big ziplock. I pick stuff out to put in the crockpot for broth. Other day I thought, why not egg shells?
