Cocaine promotes a strong sense of awareness, focus, and sensory perception. The downside is the drugs stimulant effect on stress hormones. I think regulation of stress hormones would likely help to reduce the harmful sides of cocaine. Though, prolonged use definitely isn't recommended.

How about just eating some sugar?????????????

I eat a couple hundred grams a day in the form of fruit and i have no cravings whatsoever for drugs, stimulants or candy. Sometimes it really is as simple as listening to your body.

I am a runner. As a matter of fact I did 9mi. straight today (I know, I know, but if anyone has a problem with that, they'll have to catch me first, haha). Sure, if feels nice and gives me that energized feeling, but not even close to the feeling while eating a fine sweet treat. Wasn't there something about eating sugar and release of dopamine in the brain? The funny thing though is that I can do either with or without. I'm hardly ever like "I have to eat something sweet right now". I have never tried drugs. Yeah I'm boring as hell
Btw, imo nothing wrong with eating a little bit of sugar once in a while.

Agreed. I promise you won't die. Key words are "little bit" and "once in a while".

I've done a lot of drugs in a completely legal sense in that I've had surgeries and been prescribed them...
Most are bleh... even the ones highly sought after on the streets.
              Hell, especially those.

The ONLY one I would classify as "blissful" is propofol.
Gaddammmm I love that stuff! Every time I get it I love it!
              Always... the versed/propofol powerpack combo.

The versed just gets you relaxed. Yawn.
It's that propofol that is good.
I'm always face down during surgery so I get to watch the anesthesiologist administer it... the white stuff goes in, and POOF! It's like I'm falling through the nicest most perfect cloud in the universe... then they wake me up a couple of times and do it again during the procedure.

Perks of really awful surgery... good drugs.

Were you guys talking about sugar?
I don't even much like it any more.
Especially on it's own. Ick. Too sweet... Overpowering.
I do like it in other things from time to time though, or in naturally tart-kinda sweet things on occasion.

Actually, Tramadol is great. I used to take it when I had back issues and it is a really bliss inducing drug. However, it's not OTC in the US and if you go to your MD and ask for a prescription they will probably tell you no.

As a sugar addict, I think I was actually immune to the reward. I just liked the taste.

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.

Yeah but for some people it leads to more cravings for sugar, and not from healthier sources like fruits.

And I take it you mean a couple hundred grams of fruit daily, not grams of sugar....

                        Doesn't that blow!

I had a friend who felt great on Elavil... fixed her right up.
It turned me into a cross-eyed (well, just one eye wandered randomly... still pretty weird), drooling, zombie who passed out randomly... literally.

                        That N=1 thing again.
                        Sucks!
Life would be so much simpler if all medications and diets worked exactly the same for everyone.

                          Failing that, bungee jumping.

Sugar is slightly more accessible though.

Sugar more accessible than bungee jumping or sex?

I guess we should count our blessings when both are more accessible than sugar.

Of course this is dependent on the quality of the bungee jumping.

Bungee jumping off the Victoria Falls Bridge was *almost* as good as sex but not quite. Sugar is a distant runner up for me well behind things like steak.

I have been reprimanded by an ex-partner for shouting 'This is better than sex' on a roller-coaster ride in Germany. Apparently because the German for this is not so far off the English.

Is it just me, or can nobody else ever imagine shouting 'This is better than sugar' in the heat of the moment?
