        Vodka used to be MINE, all MINE, but then I started drinking it like wine.. like lots.

        Like a 16oz tumbler of half vodka, half whatever - thems were HUGE cocktails, and I'd
        have at least three!

        My liver was seriously waving MANY white flags.

        Still love it, but it gets me in trouble... snarf.

        • AAAHHH! Sudden change of plans - dietary disaster ahead! Thanks to the snow storm, my usual Special Olympics Floor Hockey practice was cancelled (actually, I cancelled it - I'm team manager). So I thought a quiet evening at home sipping my martini was on tap. Then hubby reminded me that since I didn't have my usual commitment, I could accompany him to a friend's birthday party this evening. I had totally not remembered that this was even happening! Oh no!! Home-made (really good, organic juice, sulphite-free, smooth-goin'-down) red wine, lots of nibblies - temptations all around!

          BTW, I just made some amazingly easy and good fish. Tbsp EVCO in a frying pan, throw in and fry little fillets of frozen haddock, then add a mix of about 2 parts coconut milk, 1 part mayo and a half tbsp of curry powder all mixed together. Cook together a bit to bubble up the sauce.

              You go to that party and you eat your weight in everything you WANT.

              I subscribe to the fact that we only live once (in THIS body) and as long
              as you don't abuse that fact, then go with God my friend and EAT YUMMY
              STUFF!!!!!!

              You will get back on track tomorrow!

              That fish sounds deeeeeelicious....... will have to try.

              I'm having a super duper NOT hungry day today. Haven't eaten
              sh!t besides my coffee at 8:30 with heavy cream and two oil shots.

              I've been to the gym, did my full body weight routing, walked four miles
              and now I'm just wrapping up cleaning the whole G-D house (which is
              totally out of character for me, cuz I'm a slob and I'll say it loud and proud!).

              I'm also in the midst of a double play date for my boys. A brother and sister
              combination, and I may just die.

              Two of the most outspoken, know-it-all, entitled children I have ever met.

              Their parents obviously treat them like adults 24/7 and they are not scared of
              authority WHATSOEVER and question *everything*.

              I was brought up in a household where my mother was the biggest bitch on the
              planet (said affectionately) and I have followed suit, to a point. So if a kid asks
              me WHY they can't do something, it's "because I f*cking said so you little shit,
              THAT'S WHY."

              Though, I don't swear at children or in front of my own, but seriously.

              Grab some manners, a little respect for the 44yo MOTHER that has been hosting
              your candy asses for over two hours and get the frick out of my house.

              WHEW!

              Next time I'll tell y'all how I really feel.

              In other Shangri-La news, do you think that we should possibly start another
              thread, maybe in the odds and ends area for those of us that are doing this religiously?

              Just thinking this one is huge and with my diarrhea of the mouth, ahem, we might
              want to start a new one and I'll try and put a lid on it.

                • Soooo, I went to the party, not the least bit hungry. If I'd stayed home I wouldn't have eaten anything the rest of the night. But once there, I fell face first into an irresistable (for me) treat.

                  Here's the story: A Mexican woman moves to Ontario, a health professional, but unable to practice her profession due to our licencing laws and registered health professional laws, so she starts a small business making her grandmothers tortilla chip recipe. Sells them as gourmet chips in a fancy cheese boutique that my friend visited. They were - wait for it - Cinnamon! OMG good - hard crunch, just slightly sweet, just slightly salty and very cinnamony. My all-time favourite flavour. I resisted all the other oven pastry party appetizers, but I spent all evening with the bowl of chips. Finished it, in fact. Not totally by myself of course. I wasn't offering to stab a fork into the hand of anyone who reached into the bowl or anything. But I kept the bowl beside me through the lengthy card games. And only stopped eating when they were gone...

                  And had a moderately generous portion of red wine. Not too much though - I was the driver.

                  So weight is up a lb this morning. I plan to skip breakfast, Japanese restaurant lunch, oil in afternoon, skip or snack only at supper and then go to a play this evening (where they don't serve food, thank goodness). Hopefully get myself back on track.

                  And an indoor run and an outdoor LHT workout (disguised as a lot of snow shoveling) for exercise today.

                              • I love drugstore .com. Ordered MCT oil on Wednesday and whala! It arrived on Friday. I will take my first shot this morning and see what happens. That said, I'm going to a birthday party. Yummy organic fish and veggies but I tend to eat a bit more when out.

                                Starting weight 146.6, first goal to shed five big ones. I plan to walk at least a 5k today, maybe more and do some arm weights.
