I think 2-2.5 T. of sugar is equal to 1 T. of oil. Watch out for the MAJOR sugar crash. I felt awful for a few hours afterward. Actually there was no high, just the crash. The AS it produced was amazing though. I did take it at the same time as a T. of oil also, I read someone else talk about how it was most effective for them when the two are combined. I have never done the sugar separately, so I don't know if the oil was part of the great AS effect.

            • Yep, that's what I figured too. Luckily sugar is abound. I am almost tempted to try to replicate the experience described in SL about sugary sodas, since there is no shortage of those either. But If I feel ill, I will just skip sugar water for the reminder of the time. We are only going for 3 days, so shouldn't be too bad.

              Today, February 4th I'm 123.2

19 days, even if it's allllll water...

              SOMETHING is working.
              Good going Julie!!!!

I so agree about the MCT oil and energy..another trick, spray magnesium oil on the back side of your knees, rub it in good, huge energy, just don't do it close to bedtime, you'll think you're on speed

                  • Just dropping in to say I've picked up the cold drifting around my brother's family, and have spent all day yesterday and today in bed trying to heal up. Hate being sick. I would like to reiterate that I had a bit of a sugarfest Sat night at a party after no sugar (not even fruit) for a month, and less than 24 hours later, I was laid up with a sore throat and congestion. Just sayin'.

I didn't do SLD yesterday or today, too sick to stress about it. But all I ate was soup and fruit, so even though my food volume was higher than usual, I'm not worried about it. Also, the AS is still in effect; I've basically been making myself eat to try to nourish the sickness out of me.

Gonna start back on the oil tomorrow. Crossing my fingers that all the broth, water, ginger/honey tea, and supplements/vitamins I had today will mean I'll magically wake up tomorrow morning all better. I had to miss Crossfit this morning, which makes me MAD.

That's what I was thinking, that the insulin spike would trip up the "trick" aspect of taking the flavorless calories in the first place. That's what throws off what I thought was my understanding of how it works. Back to the drawing board!

At 140 I'm chubby, 130 I look pretty good in most clothes, 125 I look great in any clothes and pretty decent in a bathing suit. I think 120 would get me looking like a fitness model, that number might be at 125 now though depending on how much muscle I've actually gained.
I could have written this paragraph - sounds like our builds are practically identical.

Hope you're feeling better soon, Heatseeker.
