  • It happened at around 11pm. Very brief thunderstorm, at least in my area.

    • And you're in MV if I recall.

Well that's very interesting, cuz when I got back from escorting Thing Two
to school, I noticed the ground all wet where there *IS* a downspout, but it
was so freaking HOT yesterday, I really didn't put two and two together.

Even went so far as to lug the cement top off the water meter thingy in the ground
to see if the water meter was registering a leak in the pipes or whatever, but it
wasn't spinning, so I just walked in the house scratching my head.

Now I don't have to worry that I'm going crazy...well, with regard as to where
the water came from at least. Bwahahahahaha!

      Thanks SG.

      • Ooo, moved since last time. Close to SJ now

Lol@ the water! I was so glad that my plants did not die of thirst yet because I failed to water them right before and right after my week-long trip out of state! But yes, that is where it came from - the sky

I had a weird sleep night as well. Went to sleep at 11 and woke up at 3:45 starving. I tried to ignore it but gave up at 4:15. I got up and made myself bone broth egg drop soup. I so wasn't into the cooking but the only grab and chomp were hard boiled eggs which didn't sound good at all. I even chopped up a garnish of green onion for the soup. Even small cooking chores are annoying at 4:15. The soup tasted good though. I may have it for breakfast.

Lots of laundry today. I hate it when the whole shebang has to be done. Clothes, jammies, sheets, dog blanket, comforter and towels. I use the apt laundry so at least I have two washers and two dryers. I make the apt manager ghee and mayo. She pays me in quarters so it usually works out that I never pay for laundry. That makes me giggle a little.

Off for a walk before diving into laundry.

They have a Facebook Page. The writer/director Lydia Smith is great. I hope it comes here because I want everyone I know here to see it.

That's so strange that we both woke up hungry in the night. Your fix sounds delicious. Cooking is annoying all the time!

          • Julia, I'm so glad the kids are happy in school. That teach will get over you showing back up in her life. Bhaha, I can just visualize you lurking in the bushes watching the walks on the way home from school.

Oh yeah, that Lady Time is gonna be a bitch. Good luck with that.

We'll have OG pitch in for the mortgage. I'll still have to pay my monster mortgage while I'm staying at the Joolia Weight Loss New Set Point SPA.

I did 1.5 coco shots this AM. No I'll effects. I'm getting used to it. What the heck am I going to do in Europe? I will probably have to stop, then come home and guzzle it.

Why don't you walk to Oakland one of these days!

Walking to work yesterday I was feeling like its earthquake weather. Very strange. Then Whala! Lighting. I saw it when I woke up at 2:30.

              • so...some days I get my oil. othters not. no big deal. but I am "quitting" my Whole30. I knew I would have problems the last week, since husband is going on a business trip, kids need to get to school, and a family trip coming. I just dont want to think about the "what-ifs": What if this has soy or sulfites, etc? Too much stress on top of the other stresses. I still cant eat dairy or gluten anyway, so all the other things are minor by comparison to the effects of those.
I am going to aim for a 2T shot of oil after my first meal, maybe I can stick with that at least.
I am planning ahead in my mind to do the auto-immune Whole30 in October, after the craziness calms down.
                Have a good week everyone!

Then going to a work conference at a resort the first week of October. I hope I'm ready to gt back to simple when I return.

Calee, you are so right. It's not just that one more thing is the last straw, but each thing is pretty important....plus all the little things that are important.
Anyway, maybe we will get into AIP together in October. Any tips, hints and advice before I even start are appreciated! I just want it to go well, since I finally want to be rid of the last aches and inflammation.
                    Have fun on your travels!
I gotta take my teen for his Road Test. I'm sure he'll pass, but I'm nervous!

Calee, why don't you just take some with you? Either the regular refined coconut oil in a small jar or the MCT oil (I'm not sure if you've taken that one yet).

                      • Hi Pony,

The MCT gives me explosive runs. It would be comical if it wasn't happening to me! As far as taking some oil with me, I could. But also, I am seriously on a diet 340 days a year. I get really tired of it. I walk 10-15 miles a day on vacation. I eat healthy and don't overindulge unless it seems worth it. My son and I share all meals. 1 appetizer, 1 salad, 1 entree. Or two appetizers, no entree. Rarely dessert and rarely if ever, wine. So do I get to go and enjoy and not micromanage? Dunno.

I can't seem to get my set point under 144. This was my stepping in 1974 before slowly gaining 105 pounds. I work out, eat 1000-1200 calories including shots. Feel like this should be enough for a little freaking movement. And yes, it's BORING food.

Ok Julia, lemme have it. Wha wha wha.

                        • Nope, I'm keeping my trap shut!

                          Lesson learned!

Anyway, you could always just try what the author of the diet did and drink
some funky tasting sodas as your "oil".

It's not like you're going to adhere to low carb on vacation. THE HORROR!

I think you'll be very surprised when you get home from vacation.

Not cuz you might drink weird sodas, but because of what you've already
stated - you'll be walking four hundred miles a day and not eating a lot.

The focus will be on having fun and not foooooooooood for sure.

I would think that if I went on vacation with my husband, sure as shit I'd
gain 500lbs because food and drink WOULD be the main focus, but if I was
with my son, it would be an afterthought "oh wait, did we eat?"

I went to Spain and England with my father when I was 26 and I was the same
way. Hardly ate a thing. But I kept thinking about how nice it woulda been if
my new boyfriend (now my husband) was there because it would have been
                          a TON different.

All those cute little restaurants and coffee places (spain, not England, I LOATHE
England. And I'm English, so get off me) that I could have been canoodling with
my husband.. but no, there with my dad.

                          Yeah, not.so.hungry. zzZZzzZzzz

                              • Julia, sometimes I wish my son wasn't so freaking sane about food so I would have more leeway with food. It must be the guys that coached him when he was a professional soccer player and Muay Thai boxer that I can thank for that.

Yes, if I was going to Europe with new guy, it would look much much different and I would fear the scale when I got home.

As always, you're right on every count. Still enjoying your kid less week?

HD, I did my first 45+ days with no nightshades, eggs, beef, oranges. I have to say I felt good. I still want to try eggplant. I have RA that's been in remission for a decade but feel aggravation from nightshades. I think cooked tomatoes aggravate my tummy. I used to eat jalapeņos but after W75 I think thevhotbstuff aggravates me too. Just call me Lee of the BORING foods!
