  • Cooked eggs vs. raw eggs

Whenever I eat cooked eggs (scrambled and sunny side up and hardboiled) It leaves me feeling dehydrated, a little brain fogged, and low energy. I don't cook them completely well done though.

However, when I have raw eggs (egg shots and smoothie form) I feel fine and it is sort of refreshing.

Why is this? I was thinking maybe I'm not absorbing the raw eggs and that's why it doesn't affect me?

I should try eggs well cooked.

I'm a huge fan of raw eggs. I'm fairly certain that most on this board represent the opposing viewpoint.
I doubt it's that you're not "absorbing" the raw eggs... studies do show that less of a raw egg's protein is bio-available than its cooked counterpart, but that's not nearly as important to me than avoiding the oxidation of the fats and cholesterol caused by cooking.

Have you tried soft-boiling your eggs? That might be a happy medium for you.

I never know what to put in these things. I write songs!

Thanks. Yea I have tried soft boiled eggs (semi cooked egg yolk right?)
I love the taste of cooked eggs in any form, but I just leaves me feeling very unwell.

Just go with whatever makes you feel best.

What do you usually cook your eggs in?

I read that raw egg white binds to biotin and makes it completely unabsorbable if it's consumed at the same time. Not sure if this happens with any other vitamin, but might be worth looking up.

              Eat whatever suits you.

With eggs, like with my veg and my meat, I go for a "happy mix": sometimes raw, sometimes cooked. Best of both worlds.

Perfection is entirely individual. Any philosophy or pursuit that encourages individuality has merit in that it frees people. Any that encourages shackles only has merit in that it shows you how wrong and desperate the human mind can get in its pursuit of truth.

              I'd apologize, but...
