I eat home made lacto-fermented veggies and I'm a garlic addict so BRING ON THE FAT!

Plus blanket statements like "high fat diet has been shown to be inflammatory" is very misleading. Have diets high in "paleo" fats and proportions been shown to be so? I mean just on of his cites reads like this:

Design: Three groups (10 subjects in each group) of normal, healthy subjects were asked to drink water or 300 kcal glucose or orange juice in combination with a 900-kcal HFHC meal. Blood samples were obtained before and 1, 3, and 5 h after the drinks and meal combinations were consumed.

So the HFHC meal caused inflammation? Well what was the meal? A pint of seed oil poured over a bowl of wheat pasta for all I know.

High fat diets which are based on metabolic theory (avoid cholesterol and saturated fats) WILL be more inflammatory because they include LOTS of omega-6 rich fat sources. This makes perfect sense, which is why having someone who is afraid of these try to go on the diet is basically foolish.

However, replace the high omega-6 fat sources with things like coconut oil, pastured butter, and eat fatty, pasture-raised meats and the pro-inflammatory, anti-high fat message seems to become quite blurred. Especially when you consider that most primal and paleo eaters are getting a lot of anti-oxidants in their diets which will help with the inflammation (which should already be minimal) in the first place.

The metal in my head clangs and clings as I walk - freaks my balance out. So the natural thought is just clogged up. Totally clogged up. So we need to unplug these dams, and make the the natural flow... It sort of freaks me out. We need to unplug the dams. You cannot stop the natural flow of thought with a cling and a clang..."

So, if you're going to feed rats people food, give them fermented food, too. Got it!

I found the article interesting indeed. Just hard to weed out how much of it is relevant to someone eating high fat Primal diet.
