I'll be sure to let you know how I'm doing on my HIGH CARB paleo diet. We get it, you tried low carb, it didn't work, you ate sugar and got healthy. Now you're spreading the good word in the most arrogant and annoying manner possible, which makes you a douchebag, and that's why I don't like you. That's why nobody here likes you, not because we drank the kool-aid.
Not really. Simply having a difference in opinion around here gets you jumped by the hivemind mentality and they don't care how well you rationalize it. Now that's annoying.
I was intrigued by the Ray Peat Protocols and listened to hours of podcasts and read his articles for weeks. In the end, his protocol is specific to the individual and not a set of generic guidelines like the Primal Blueprint. In one of the Q&A's with Peat, they asked him what the 'Peat Diet' was exactly, he laughed it off and said there was no 'Peat Diet', it was all patient specific and depending on labs and metabolism issues, different patients would get a different diet.
If Peat were my doctor, and he told me to drink salty OJ everyday and then backed it up by tracking labs to see where it got me, I'd do it, but as a generic diet regimen I wouldn't do it. There was another guy like Peat, named Jack Kruse. He was sort of the same way. A brilliant doctor, neurosurgeon to be exact, but his advice was so specific it wasn't fit for daily use for 90% of the people that read it. However, there were tons of people who took anything he said to the extreme just because he mentioned it--even if it was meant for a post-menopausal woman with T2 diabetes...
GROUP HUG.. ha .. People the real devil here is the FDA.
Cant people ever have friendly adult like debates? I posted on here for the first time
got bashed and called names. really? Understandably everyone is entitled to there opinion.
You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something sometime in your life..
I don't claim to be a smarty pants about anything.....except for children, because I have so many of them.
Having a healthy debate is great! But I think what irritates folks to begin with is when someone comes on a post to chime in about pancakes and french toast and how great and delicious they are, especially when the OP says in the first post that they indulged in a wheat product and felt horrible as a result. Now, if they had come on and said something to the effect of, "What did you eat that made you sick? How do you know it was wheat/are you sure it was from wheat product?" something along those lines, showing that they clearly are posting because they want to talk about the wheat issue and open an interesting and civilized discussion about it, instead of posting just to be annoying, a la pancakes/french toast.
I mean, it's obvious from most of their posts here that they are not super interested in having a good, intellectual debate, but moreso interested in ruffling feathers of those who truly love and believe in this WOE.
I've tried several times to have a debate, only to be completely ignored and ridiculed(if you can call it that, not like I was remotely offended) for things I eat without any real rhyme or reason aside from what they've been told. There is no debating with people that are that dead set in their ways.
I also don't think there is anything really wrong with eating "primal", I think it's a healthy practice to seek out whole foods over heavily modified foods.
Well, you also have to understand that this place gets a lot of trolls and spammers, so it doesn't really surprise me if you were given the third degree, lol!! The Primal Pack is protecting their home and trying to protect the integrity of this board and what it stands for, which in this case happens to be the principles taught by Mark Sisson. We don't like intruders coming on and possibly feeding misinformation or making this process any more confusing than it needs to be, especially for the noobs.
I just kinda spoke for everyone. Sorry if I overstepped there guys. Feel free to disagree with me if you don't feel the same.
