  • Uric Acid and Kidneys

I have just started my search, so I was hoping if anyone had any info that could jumpstart me or lead me in the right direction, that would be awesome and greatly appreciated.

My sister was just put on some meds and has to go back in 3 weeks. She said her kidneys arent functioning like they are suppose to and she has high uric acid.

She is a smoker. Most of their meals are prepared out of a box. I want to try to steer her in the right direction diet wise.

Oh, she is taking Allopurinol - 100 mg And Naproxen.

I can/will research also but thought I would ask

    Thanks!

this is what you want to look at. Dr Richard Johnson is a kidney specialist at the University of Colorado and head of the division of renal health and hypertension. His latest book is The Fat Switch which focuses on Uric Acid

Would I be putting a grain-feed cow on a fad diet if I took it out of the feedlot and put it on pasture eating the grass nature intended?
