  • Macadamia Nuts = Fat Bombs of Doom

Why must these addictive little suckers pack such a caloric punch?! I am so switching to almonds.

I have never had macadamia nuts. These are just too expensive here. Have you tried pecan nuts? I might have to look into that again, but I remember seeing that their omega3 to 6 ratio was really good.

ETA. Actually from what I saw on here. 1oz pecan nuts contains:
    Total Fat
20.2g. Saturated Fat 1.7g Monounsaturated Fat 11.4g Polyunsaturated Fat 6.1g

IMO almonds contain too many PUFAs

Love them.. but at $15 lb vs. $3 lb for grass fed beef it's an easy choice.

Whole raw macs are available here in whatever quantity you want to scoop into your bag. Pricey. And freaking delicious. I've just made peace with only buying them once every couple of weeks and accepting that I'll probably eat all of them within 24 hours.

I try not to buy them unless I'm having a hard core craving for them. There's a reason I call them crack-a-damias.

              They are annoyingly addictive.

It's that buttery aftertaste that does it for me.

I only eat mac nuts mixed with full fat greek yogurt and berries. Mmm...

$3 lb for grass bed beef where you are?! I get a pound of grass fed ground beef for 7.50, and that's as cheap as I can find it. I live in New York state.

You certainly can't get grass fed beef for 3 dollars a lb where I am, either. Calgary, AB, Canada. :P

Don't care too much for macadamias. I find them too bland - a good thing, I suppose, considering how expensive they are.

I think they're so delicious....basically my favorite nut I only buy them when they're on sale because they're so much tastier than olive oil in my salads.

Almonds are so boring. I get tired of them after the first oz (although I will keep eating them just because they're addictive XD) but I could keep eating macadamias after the first half pound.

I can get local grass fed ground beef for 4.25, but macadamias need to be imported - there are none to be found in this town. I have one bag left that were brought back by a friend from Hawaii. I'm saving them to make some nut bars with during the Christmas holidays 'cause both of my sons will be home!

If you've never had them, and you think they are too expensive, ask for them as a gift. Then they're a treat.
