In all the of pics here on the site showing Mark, what do you think his BF is?

Trying to set that as a goal, but my BF meter is not co-operating...LOL

He looks to me, to be around 7-8%. Hmm I wonder what I am... it's never really something I thought or cared about, the number that is

Dirlot, what you provided present some flaws I think

On this one, the one under 14% is much leaner than that, light can change the perception we have of it.

Yea there is no right or wrong unfortunately...it is all a bit of a guessing game. Having said that he has a similar look to me and I am about 13% with calipers so who knows.

Yeah like you said it's very individual.
What is "thought" on bodybuilding forums to be 8% or 7% BF% is scientifically a bit higher than that, think DEXA scan, it measures fat around your organs, in your organs and your brains.
For example, here is when I have VERY lean but MUCH TOO SKINNY (long story)
            http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/...3510-clem3.jpg

I was tested at 12% my DXA.

The University near me does hydrostatic weighing I am tempted to do it just out of curiosity but on the other hand I am 6foot 182lbs with a 32-34 inch waist so I figure regardless of what my BF is I am doing OK.

I'm just curious because he looks great for his age and I'm of similar years. I bought a BF tester that is suppose to be pretty good. Not looking for and exact, just wondering what it's going to take. Haven't seen my abs since I started drinking beer. Age in Canada is lower at 18 and I started drinking well before that, soooooooooooo it's been a lonnnnnnggggggg time! LOL

I'd guess he's definitely in single digits. I'm 6'1, 160 lbs, I get checked in a bodpod and I'm in the low 14% range, and I'm not as ripped as he is.

I can almost guarantee you will never look like Mark Sisson. He has been into high endurance sports, body building, whatever, his whole life. He is seeing his genetic potential, same as you want to see, but sadly we all don't have that genetic potential to look like Mark Sisson. I'd be willing to bet he's never had a time when he didn't have visible abs.

I think for guys like you and me, the best we can hope for is to get rid of visceral fat, get off all meds, and then hit a healthy weight and stay there.

I'd say the only way it would be possible for a formerly chunky middle-aged man to end up like Mark Sisson would be with relentless training and possibly testosterone/steroid/hgh doping. Without that, you'd have to find a doctor who would test you and get your testosterone, thyroid, and cortisol into the upper 90% of ref range and then live in a gym for a couple years.

Don't underestimate yourself like that. It certainly is achievable , but only if you have the will and dedication that will get you there. You need to love being active, which Mark obviously does.

I agree. It's possible, and I've seen some amazing transformation stories, but you definitely have to be absolutely dedicated to working your body and eating well.

I dunno, I see a lot of Mark look-a-likes in the Success Stories. Maybe not quite so ripped, but certainly not an impossibility. Tthat said, Mark looks like about a 11%.

Work out hard, train hard eat STRICT Primal (no alcohol or dairy either) and it is probably atainable at most ages but the older you are the harder the battle will be.
