Coconut milk isn't particularly nutritious and it's very high in calories so a poor choice for weight loss, but if you like the taste it contains very good quality fats. Just be aware of the dosage. You wouldn't drink straight heavy cream I assume, but a few tablespoons can add volume to a dish or lighten tea or coffee. Think of coconut milk as a non-dairy heavy cream alternative that goes well with Asian cooking.
