I probably didn't think of it first. It's just the idea to eat like your exact ancestors to ease enzymatic compensation and extend organ life. To eat the foods that compensate for any genetic adaptations and minimize stress and deficiencies.
Problem is, a lot of people today are complete mishmashes. And if you look back far enough you'll find some ancestors who migrated around quite a bit.
Most Americans have some Native American ancestry, and most Eastern Europeans have some Mongolian ancestry.
I think this sort of thing is tough, unless you have the money to do a full genome/DNA/etc. test. And even then genetics isn't an equal-sum game. Which is why I think the n=1 approach advocated by Mark works best when it comes to known variables such as gluten, lactose, probiotics, and so on.
