  • Grassfed Beef Glands: how much?

I just noticed that my local co-op has available in it's beef selection all of the beef glands.
    I think this is new.

It says: Glands, adrenal, thymus, thyroid.

I know that I've read that in other areas this is not commonly available...

So... how much fresh is safe to eat.
I wouldn't mind adding some to my order on occasion, but also wouldn't want to over do it.

    Thoughts.

And that's why I'm here eating HFLC Primal/Paleo.

I'm not sure about the thyroid. I know that those still contain thyroid hormone. I think it would be OK to eat once in a while, but definitely not on a regular basis as it would be like taking Synthroid.

I have no idea about the adrenals.

I think the thymus (AKA as sweetbread, the other sweetbread being pancreas) is OK to eat fairly regularly. I think its main function is with the immune system. I am very jealous that you have access to this. I have been wanting to try sweetbreads for a long time but haven't found a vendor who carries them yet.

Yeah, the thymus/sweetbreads I've had before and really enjoy.
      The others I have not...

I think it would be healthy to eat them occasionally... just curious how often.
