Anyone heard of this: Paleo Bakehouse

Sorry if this has already been discussed. I didn't see any threads using the search. My son's girlfriend ordered a sample bag of these. The look and smell delicious. These are obviously treats and not for regular eating, but they are supposedly natural paleo ingredients.

They have agave in them. I would be careful.

"Ingredients: Almond flour, coconut oil, baking soda, egg, agave, vanilla, semi-sweet chocolate chips*

*Nut, soy and gluten free "

      Nut free... ok...

I took a peek too and only the chocolate chip cookie has agave, the rest are coconut sugar. It is very strange that they would put a nut-free disclaimer though.

        They look friggin good though

Sugar is sugar, but true that agave nectar is high in fructose compared to other sweeteners. Like I said, for a treat, it's probably ok.

It's going to be very difficult for companies to pull off making "paleo" products since most of us know better. We buy our own produce, cook our own food, and we have a distrust for anything prepackaged and processed.

Food corporations would collapse if everyone else got wise to this way of eating.

Why not use some coconut flour, and some stevia to sweeten it ?
I think I'd even prefer consuming some sugar alcohols than eating agave.

Really? So, if I eat a few of these, then what could be the disastrous consequences? Let's put things in perspective.

Bad labelling, but the '*' is just for the semi-sweet chocolate chips
