  • My Big Fat Diet-- the documentary

    looks like a film opposite of SuperSizeMe, kind of like Tom Naughton's Fat Head,

    Looks like a paleo/primal type diet to me.

    might be worth a watch.

    sounds good to me! is it actually on DVD or something? Netflix?

    Eating lots but still hungry? Eat more fat. Mid-day sluggishness? Eat more fat. Feeling depressed or irritable? Eat more fat. People think you've developed an eating disorder? Eat more fat... in front of them.

        Don't think it'll be on Netflix anytime soon.

        I think it's a low-budget private funded movie like Fat Head was. I wouldn't mind paying a few bucks to watch it though.

        It certainly looks like they chose a healthier path than Tom Naughton (i remember he still ate some fast food here and there) and I think they did the "experiment" for an entire year.

          Tom Naughton proved his point awfully well. I think that the only results which were not ideal (and he openly admitted as much) was his LDL and HDL, because of the transfats the fast food people used for frying. (Not their fault, as he points out -- they were harassed into using transfats instead of beef tallow.)

          But the second part of his experiment, where he followed Dr. Eades' advice to lay on the saturated fat as thick as he could, and where he ate at home instead of at fast food places, his lipid panel got really good.

          The only thing I could fault him for was the occasional Diet Coke. Aspartame ------------------don't get me started!

            @PDL

            Agreed, just because Tom didn't adopt a whole foods only approach, doesn't mean it didn't get similar results.

            But I think that's what makes me more anxious to watch this video, seeing the documented results of a whole foods only diet vs Western diet.

            Maybe Mark should venture into a video/movie project at some point in the future!

            There's a big enough following in the paleo/primal community!

              It is on Netflix, but not yet released. You can save it to your cue so you are first up when it comes out. Look forward to watching.
