  • IS sweet potato primal???

I was wondering if sweet potato is primal. I usually only eat sweet potato on days where I have a moderate to heavy workout session..any other good foods you like to eat on a heavy workout day?

Yes, it is primal. I think most try to use it like you mentioned on heavy work out days, as more carbs are involved.

Imagine yourself as Grok. You're hungry and you know there is this plant growing over there (next to the big rocks, you see it?), that has these big fat yellowey-orangey roots on it. Do you think it is "Primal" to go over there and dig a few of them up to eat? Heck in the right season you might dig up a whole lot of them and stash them in the back of your cave for the days when you couldn't catch an animal on your hunting excursion. (this is an equal opportunity scenario)

It's primal as fuck. You should lift the heavies, everyone tells me to eat this sweet potato after lifting the heavies.

The day I went for a 4 mile run after lifting heavy things for 20 minutes, I had two eggs with two pieces of bacon and sautee'd shredded zucchini topped with avocado and fresh-made salsa.

I'm sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but can someone explain to me how sweet potatoes and potatoes are paleo/primal? Because don't you have to simmer them for half an hour in order to make them edible? What did Grok do? Eat them raw?

If Grok is using fire, he could've baked them in the coals. But yeah, I don't see why he couldn't have eaten them raw, even if they're not that tasty (to us) that way.

Em, isn't there an enzyme that inhibits protein absorption or something if you eat it raw?
And what about white potatoes? Aren't they extremely poisonous raw?

Well then I guess you could not eat them raw. I was unaware of such a thing.
