  • Fish oil gone rancid, or is it normal?


    I bought this fish oil somewhere in late may or early june this year. I kept it refrigerated (in the dark, naturally).
    I still take it nowadays, though when I pour it into the spoon, I tend to see weird swirling things, most likely a weird form of bubbles. (I want to mention that I wash the spoon before pouring the oil, so that water that's left on the spoon might be causing this).

    My question is, is this normal? or is there a chance it has gone rancid?

    rancid oil has a very unpleasant odor.
    As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.

      Well it doesn't. What about the semi-bubbles I've noticed?

        Dry the spoon and see what happens.

          Should the oil look crystal clear?
