  • Do you eat the blood juices that comes in beef?

    You know how when you defrost a package of meat the blood juices accumulate at the bottom? Do you consume it at all or pour it out before cooking?

    I usually pour it off into my dogs bowl (always some dry food in there)

      depending on what I'm doing with it, I pour it into the pan and let it cook with the rest of the pan juices.

        Blood is extremely nutritious and high in iron. I like to pour it all into the pan to cook with my meat.

          Yum! My fave is the blood from liver.... always cook it up and eat it along with my liver.

              The red liquid is not blood. It may be partially. The rest is dye and other chemicals to make the meat more appealing to the consumer visually.

                The meat I buy has beetroot as dye.. Guess that's not so bad. Doesn't have other ingredients though

                  I pour it away as I'm not keen on the taste. If I cook my steak to rare or medium rare, I do consume blood that comes out once it's cooked but I don't go out of my way.

                    It's water mixed with myoglobin from the meat.

                      <<<<< What they said. I usually dump it unless i need some extra liquid in what im cooking. Also, meat is not dyed.

                        I don't think this is the case when you buy from a local farmer who grass feeds and minimally processes...
