In 1985 the national heart lung and blood institute advised to cut fat and cholesterol intake and replace with whole grains. I don't understand why large companies, societies, governments ect... Keep leading people down the wrong path. Is it done maliciously? Is it done by mistake? Are these people idiots? It's very frustrating

Think about it this way: If we all get healthy, who stands to lose the most money? Purveyors of shit food, purveyors of shit medicine are a start. Follow the money, baby.

Drug companies, too. There's no money in healthy people.

How does that quote go? Don't attribute to malice what can be explained by mere stupidity?

In the US, most people are trained to run themselves into the ground with work and stress to gain profit at the expense of their own personal health. The US government and US corporations are made up of a bunch of people making decisions that affect millions based on that training.

I think it's a systemic societal priority problem, not a conspiracy. And it doesn't help that the people who provide our health care are often working from data 10 years or more behind the latest science.

Eat what you want. End of story. Getting people to eat healthy is like the war on drugs, pointless. People want to get high.
