I like milk and milk products as part of my diet. I found a local dairy that claimed to raise only "grass fed" dairy cows. I wanted to know more about their pasture management practices, where they pastured their cows, how they managed tough Utah winters in the high mountain valley where they are located and found out that they don't actually let their cows roam alpine valleys for grass but that they sprout grains and feed the "grass" to the cows. Does anyone know if this is the same thing nutritionally speaking as letting the cows forage for grass and forbs on their own?
