  • School me on Vacuum Sealers...

Between the hunting and fishing that I do and my new found love of homemade beef jerky, I'm thinking I need a vacuum sealer for better "longer term" storage. Does anybody have a model that they love? Any makes to avoid? Etc..

YESSSSSSSSSS. I've been needing one for a long time. I actually have some money to throw around, so if anyone is knowledgeable, help us out! I've been looking at this one. I guess you just gotta keep buying bags for it, but I'm under the impression you have to buy certain bags for the bigger ones anyway (and this one is small and handheld and way cheaper!) http://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-FSFR.../dp/B002FWIVCA

I have this one and I love it: http://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-Adva...=vacuum+sealer

The sucker paid for itself in days, honestly. I seal all leftovers, buy things in bulk, freeze everything. They are great!!!

I have had a Food Saver for about 10 years that I bought at Costco if I recall (at least they currently have them). Mine is going strong and I use it a lot.

I bought one of the original, made in Italy, Tilia Foodsavers on eBay, and I love it.

Buy the cheap ziploc vacuum pump and ziploc vacuum bags. It works just as good as the expensive ones, is easier to use, and much cheaper on pump and bags.
