  • What are your 'ESSENTIAL' Vitamins & Supplements?

    Just wondering what Vitamins and Supplements some people find essential to use in daily life..

    Fish oil comes from fish

    I take 5000IU D3 and 15mg zinc each day. Also use a magnesium oil spray. Rest comes from food, including organs, which I have for breakfast about 5 times per week
    Four years Primal with influences from Jaminet & Shanahan and a focus on being anti-inflammatory. Using Primal to treat CVD and prevent stents from blocking free of drugs.

    Eat creatures nose-to-tail (animal, fowl, fish, crustacea, molluscs), a large variety of vegetables (raw, cooked and fermented, including safe starches), dairy (cheese & yoghurt), occasional fruit, cocoa, turmeric & red wine

      Fish oil, and I take gummy bear multi vitamins =)

      Luckily I don't need vit D supplement.

        Current deadlift 245 lbs, squat 165 lbs, bench press 135 lbs

          I take:

          A raw food-based multi
          Fish oil
          Vit-D (I am indeed deficient, but getting better so I've decreased the amount)
          Magnesium most evenings

          But right now I'm following more of a candida elimination protocol so I'm taking a Candida Cleanse formula and will follow up with a general liver support formula and probably a probiotic (I eat fermented foods every day) -- just one bottle of each though. More for a little assistance, not a permanent crutch.

              i regularly take the following:

              vit. d

              but only when i'm not getting what i need from food or the sun

                Cod lover fish oil (with vit D)
                Multivitamin with B12 and Magnesium (to prevent foot cramps)
                5HTTP (helps with sweet cravings)

                I am thinking about trying PAGG from 4 hour body book (ALA, garlic, green tea and some poly... whatever) once I am back from vacations.

                Things that did not do anything for me: creatine

                  - Natural Calm (Magnesium)
                  - Zinc
                  - Vitamin C
                  - Vitamin D3 (if I know I will not be in the sun or it's winter)
                  - NOW Super Enzymes (Just working through a bottle to get my digestion back in order)

                    Magnesium citrate powder
                    vitamin C powder
                    Vit D3 - 5000 IU
                    Biotin (made a huge improvement in my nails)
                    Cod Liver oil sometimes
                    L-Glutamine (to repair intestinal stuff)

                    Then I have a bunch of constantly changing things I'm experimenting with...

                      I don't take any. I took some D3 once and felt like shit. Same with fish oil.

                        I take fish oil, D3, and B1 (thiamin). I really notice less energy when I don't take the B1!

                          Fermented cod liver oil
                          D3 on non-sunny days
                          And when my calves get cramps, a little potassium -- or I eat a banana.

                            Does popping some raw cubes of liver count? Thats my current least for this week. I do D3 in the winter though.

                              I take Super greens (from field and sea)
                              Vit D3 (in oil)
                              Fish Oil
                              1/2 teaspoon Maca Powder
                              2 teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar in water 2 X day
