  • Cheesecake Factory...

I'm headed out to The Cheesecake Factory with some friends tomorrow night. Does anyone know of anything off the top of their heads that is primal? I plan on scouring over the menu tonight.

Obviously, I will skip the cheesecake. If I'm really tempted, I might just bring a Larabar, instead.

They have plenty of meat + veggie entrees, and you can ask to sub anything you don't want.

If you don't mind the sugar, eat some cheesecake, avoiding / indulging in crust as is your custom.

Just know that, like at any chain, the cooking oil will likely be "unsavory."

Actually, you could probably get a killer big ass salad there and ask for olive oil + vinegar on the side. Boom.

I just went there with friends and family a few weeks ago, had the ribeye, substituted the potato for asparagus, and ate the goddamned cheesecake. it was awesome. i only do it about 3-4 times a year, and it's worth it everyfuckingtime.

Hey guys I'm shipping off to the front lines of Afghaniraqistan. Any suggestions on what I can do to avoid getting wounded?

First of all, I <3 this board. When I did Atkins, I was on a message board for that WOE. All of the members were extremely militant about the slightest little cheat. I lost a ton of weight doing that, but suffered every time my husband ate crap in front of me. And that is part of why I just can't go back to that!

I LOVE to see "eat the damn cheesecake!". Primal is love.

Back to the topic, thanks for the suggestions for foods! I hear that their menu is huge, so I'm sure I can find something safe. I would venture to guess that their salad dressings are made with crap oils. Maybe I can smuggle in my bottle of Bragg's...

I will consider the cheesecake, though I will likely abstain. I am going to a 4th of July party that will be catered and I have NO idea what kind of food will be there. I don't want to have to stick with munching on nothing but cheese all day because I feel bad about the cheesecake. =\

My take is if you're freaking out about one meal, you are then detracting from your quality of life. If you can't eat a damned cheesecake (my birthday cake of choice BTW) everything now and then, what's the point?

Who has that signature line of "don't let perfect stand in the way of good?"
