  • Craving Dairy!!

I am just getting over a terrible bout with a GI virus - 3-4 days of nastiness!

Since feeling better I have been craving dairy like there is no tomorrow (Usually pretty dairy-free). I finally caved in and bought some raw cream and raw jersey milk today. Holy crap - I can't stop myself! It just tastes sooooo good.

I will be sad to say goodbye to it since it is so delicious, but I'm curious what would make me crave it after being sick?

Maybe your body is calcium or vitamin d3 deficient?

we often crave the things we need... it's just teaching our body to crave the right things that's the tricky part

Eat it. You bought raw, not Yoplait or something like that. My mom told me the same thing - as long as you are craving a real food, indulge it. If it makes you less anxious, try goat dairy in the mix. I love chèvre, and have been craving and eating it daily.

I have a mantra that I have spouted for years... "If I eat right, I feel right. If I feel right, I exercise right. If I exercise right, I think right. If I think right, I eat right..." Phil-SC

Well, I finished half a pint of heavy cream, 3/4 of quart of milk, and half a block of manchego cheese I've finally had my fill. I am actually stuffed. I'll see how I feel in the next few days. It would be lovely if I could add in a little raw cream on a more regular basis.

Maybe because of some beneficial bacteria in raw and fermented dairy that could help heal your gut again..? Once after I had bad stomach I craved youghurt like there was no tomorow! So I ate some plain, organic youghurt and felt better (I just wish we had raw dairy where I live).
