  • Lindt 90 Secrets

I went to the Lindt website to find out the flavanol concentration of their 90 dark chocolate. They state that that their process and flavanol concentration is secret. Is this legitimate or are they trying to conceal the fact that their product isn't all that healthy?

As far as chocolate goes, I think Lindt is really good. I love their 85 and 90% dark, both very good, smooth and well worth every bite!

As far as their processes being secret, I'm not really surprised by that. The chocolate biz is competitive. I wouldn't want to give my secrets if I made chocolate that good. I don't think they are trying to hide or cover up anything. Their products are legit, you can taste a huge difference between their product, and a Hershey bar for instance.

Yep, my local ACME has the Lindt 90 bars on sale 2 for $5 and I cleaned them out. It is really good!

I bought a bunch of bars one day and my partner and I did a taste test.

Lindt, Green and Black's, Cocoa Camino.

Lindt lost. It was worse than either of the others.

Well, duh. Lindt is priced at $2.50/bar. G&B is at $4/bar. I've never tried Cocoa Camino, but the prices speak for themselves.

Where I live Lindt is usually priced at 3 to 3.50 a bar. Green and Black's (and Cocoa Camino) is usually 3.89, but right now one store is selling it for 2.50 - I stocked up. It tastes like Christmas.

Cocoa Camino scores extra points because it uses South American beans which means the beans are not picked by slaves. Harder to guarantee with Lindt.

                You like sugar, not chocolate!

I don't know Cocoa Camino, but Green and Black's are too sweet and have too much sugar in them.
That is not very paleo, surely?!?!

                I love Lindt 90%.
Perhaps you like sugar, rather than chocolate.

I've gotten a bar of 85% Lindt and had to toss it because I hated it so much. To me it tasted like those horrid chocolate covered cherries in the boxed chocolates. I prefer Trader Joe's 85%, which tastes like chocolate.
