  • Omega 3 intake

    Hi all,

    I'm just wondering... could I be getting too much Omega 3? I eat a can of sardines every morning and have salmon 1-2 times per week, plus I take 1000+ mg of Omega 3 supplements. I feel pretty good, pairing the supplements with CoQ10 and 5000 IU Vitamin D3. My mood seems to have gone up greatly, but I'm just wondering if it's possible to be overdoing the O3.

      Agree with Jakey, if you're eating that much fish you're doing fine. Chances of supplements being in the proper ratio of EPA/DHA and not being rancid are iffy. Consider varying with other ω-3 sources, like kippered herring, fresh fish: arctic char, mackerel, anchovies, oysters, halibut, mussels, etc. Sprinkle some chia seeds into salads or yogurt. Find some wild purslane and put it in your salads. Eat moderate amounts of walnuts.
