  • Nutritionist talking about paleo - getting it wrong

On the Marilyn Dennis show today they had a nutritionist on talking about Paleo Diets (they will be talking about diets all week and the links will show here in a day or two). Wow was she awful, I think she only did a 30s google search rather than read any of the books on the Paleo/Primal way of life.
her example breakfast: Egg-white omelet - (wtf why throw away those tasty yokes)
served a nice lunch with a plate full of veg and some protein but she focused on the protein
She did say it had lots of good nutrition and could be used as a good detox but the low carb would be hard. PRIMAL/PALEO IS NOT ABOUT LOW CARB, it is about avoiding grains dairy and other problem foods.
Her examples to improve the diet, fist (already on it), sweet potato (if you want it eat it) then sprouted grain bread. So much misinformation about improving the diet with things that are permited etc...furious for that type of reporting to be go on!
Eating primal is not a diet, it is a way of life.
    PS
    Don't forget to play!

When you mentioned the part about the bread, it almost makes it sound like someone paid her to talk bad about Paleo/Primal eating ways. Hmm...

Why would anyone pay someone to talk about a fringe diet that (in the overall diet scene) very few people are following?

This. Occam's razor suggests incompetence/laziness rather than malice is the source of the misapprehensions in the article.
Today I will: Eat food, not poison. Plan for success, not settle for failure. Live my real life, not a virtual one. Move and grow, not sit and die.

I got a response from the show: "Thank you for your email Rob I will happy to forward it to the producer of this segment. D. Melissa Hershberg is however a weight loss specialist and we are doing our best to represent each diet fairly."

No response to the fact she missrepresented the Paleo/Primal way of eating at all. I googled her and of course she has her own book to push....lets guess do you think her type of diet might come out at top?

Conventional wisdom is never going to agree with us.

              No matter what.

              Eff 'em.

Do not allow yourself to become wrapped up in a food 'lifestyle'. That is ego, and you are not that.
