  • your favorite "healthier" sugars?

just a fun conversation .. the few that know me here know i HATE when people talk about fake cakes, psudo breads, etc .. teh way i see it, its all crap to mask your true desire to eat SAD .. and its all not what this site should be about imho ..

    anyways ..

for those of us that stay pretty damn strict, what sugars float your boat? if i cheat even a tiny bit with processed sugars etc (IE: a hersheys kiss) i get slightly bloated, feel horrible after a small crash, and my weight loss stops cold ...

    i love::::::::::::

    strawberries
    blueberries
    blackberries
    raspberries
    occasional clementines or oranges

i also enjoy 85% chocolate, although i try to make this rare say 1 time a month IF that ..

what else do you guys love?

raw honey can be tasty . unfortunately pretty expensive around here .. id only like some for sauces etc ... my next goal i hit im making myself a 85% candy bar .. melting down green and black bar (well say 1/4 of one), adding bacon, coconut flakes, and possibly a couple crushed macadamias .. making a 12oz bar from 3oz chocolate or so if you know what i mean ..

Raw honey in my coconut milk chai. So happy my partner just got a kilo of it as a thank you from a customer the other day. Free honey = win.

Chunked, coated in coconut oil, oven roasted sweet potato bites.

I don't make them often, husband LOVES them. My taste buds have adjusted so that even the natural sugars in the sweet potatoes seem VERY sweet to me without anything added. It's like dessert sweet!

We made some oven roasted sweet potatoes the other night. They were sliced fairly thin with a mandolin and coated in goose fat. No added sugar. Just a little salt and pepper. I had to ask my husband if he'd put sugar on them. They were so amazingly sweet and caramelized!

Dark chocolate give me a freaking migraine, so definitely not that.

I guess I've always been a sucker for Granny Smith apples...

148g of blueberries is 21g of carbs - it's about a cup and a half(depending on the size of the berries). You really get a bang for your buck with the amount and sweetness.

                        GRAPES! Frozen grapes! Crazy good!

                        Clementines!
Raw honey wins every time in my book. Just bought raw buckwheat honey from a local dude. A-FREAKIN'-MAZING!!!

Berries, definitely. 88% chocolate (Endangered Species brand). I use stevia for added sweetness, tho not too much (you can buy the crushed leaf, which is about 30x sugar sweetness. On rare occasions, a bit of maple syrup.

Frozen blueberries with frozen strawberries. The two flavors complement each other so well. I like raw honey too but I go through it so fast that I thought it better not to replace the bottle I just emptied. G&B 85%.

Oh and sweet potatoes... it's dessert and dinner at the same time.

And after typing this up I realize that I offered nothing new to the discussion.
