  • A couple food questions

    Everyone here has been a huge help, I have a couple more questions I cannot find awnsers to.

    Is butter or margarine ok on the Paleo diet?

    and milk? if so what kind? I found a pretty good almond milk, will that work?

    and cheese, I see alot of people eating it while on the diet, are certain types allowed?

    and wine, I see alot of people drink wine, certain types again?

    Butter: yes. Margarine: no. The best butter is the organic, unsalted stuff.

    Milk: not so much, though we're big fans of coconut milk. Almond milk is sort of okay but as I understand there are some significant drawbacks. Overall, almond milk lacks benefits and is too low on fat and often too high in sugar.

    As far as cheese or other dairy, Mark has said he's overall undecided but suggests you see what works best for you. Taking it in moderation or limited quantities is best if you can handle it.

      Try to get grass-fed butter. Raw milk is best, but if you can't get it, whole organic milk. Full fat cheese and for wine-dry red is your best option.

        There's this book you can read called the Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson. It should answer all your questions.

          Or for a quicker read...try Mark's new The Primal Blueprint 21 Day Total Transformation.

          Both are great books to have in your library, as are his cookbooks. I have them all.
